To ensure URBAN system integrity, it is regularly tested through external penetration tests, and our entire infrastructure and application are monitored 24/7/366 for threats.

Our system runs on the infrastructure of a leading global cloud provider. This means physical data center security, network protection (including DDoS protection), and hardware integrity are provided at the highest global level. The provider holds dozens of international certifications and attestations, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS, confirming compliance with the strictest security and data privacy standards.

Yes. Hardware is covered by the manufacturer warranty (scope and duration as per the offer/contract), and the cloud software (SaaS) is delivered with maintenance, support, and OTA updates (scope and duration as per the offer/contract).
No. The Urban system is installed in a secure cloud (SaaS) by default. This means you do not have to worry about server maintenance, updates, or backups. BIOT handles it for you.

Yes, BIOT also delivers such a solution. We offer an on-premise version of the Urban application installed on a customer server. It provides full control over data and infrastructure but shifts responsibility for server maintenance, security, and the update process to the customer.
Yes. Security is a priority. We use multi-layer security: full encryption of communication, access-level management, and mechanisms protecting against unauthorized access. Our data centers and the system manufacturer hold the ISO 27001 information security certification.
The app allows, among other things: locating all devices on the map, remotely controlling lighting (individually or in groups), creating lighting schedules, monitoring energy consumption, and receiving automatic fault alerts.
Of course. The system collects data and allows simple analysis. You can generate and export reports, for example on energy consumption, luminaire operating time, or fault history. This is key for managing what we can measure.
Yes. The system is designed for reliability. Devices such as controllers store schedules in local memory and can operate autonomously (according to the last uploaded plan). Once connectivity is restored, they automatically synchronize data with the cloud.
As part of deployment, we analyze technical options. If the existing infrastructure (e.g., mobile operators) is insufficient, we build our own network (e.g., in Thread/Mesh radio or LoRaWAN), installing appropriate gateways (Hubs) on poles or buildings to ensure full coverage of the managed area.
Our Urban platform is an open system, which means it can integrate with third-party devices. Thanks to support for open protocols such as TALQ, the system can also manage controllers from other manufacturers as long as they are compatible. This gives clients full flexibility in building and expanding their Smart City infrastructure.
